This venue is on our list because we checked it against its own official pages, not because we have photographed a wedding here. Everything on this page comes from the venue. The picture at the top is stylised from a photograph of the place, as the line under it says. When you book us for a date here, we scout the place first.

The villa is not hired out for weddings. There is no room-hire page anywhere on villavauban.lu, in any of its three languages; the only private booking the museum takes is a child's birthday for ages 6 to 11. We list it because the park is one of the best places in the city to photograph a couple, not because you can celebrate here.

The house is an urban villa of 1873, rebuilt around a contemporary extension by Diane Heirend & Philippe Schmit architectes — TECU Architecture Award 2010, Prix Luxembourgeois d'Architecture 2011. It is named after the fort of Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban that stood here; part of the 18th-century fortress wall is still in the basement. The park was laid out by the French landscape architect Édouard André (1840–1911) and is open to everyone.

We photographed a couple in this park in August 2025, after a civil ceremony held elsewhere in the city. Museum entry is 5 €, free on Friday evenings; the park costs nothing. It is three minutes from our studio and a short walk from the Hôtel de Ville, which is what makes it work on a tight city timetable.
